The Food Shelf

The Chester-Andover Family Center Food Shelf provides its participants with one week’s worth of food ONCE per month, as well as WEEKLY produce (and bread when supplies allow). Participants can shop for non-perishable staples, fresh produce, meat and dairy products.

Staffed by our Thrift Shop manager Rylie Groves and volunteers, our food shelf provides a food shopping experience that allows recipients to make choices for themselves and their family. Recipes and information on nutrition are available. We can also help identify additional food sources in the greater Chester-Andover community.

The Food Shelf depends on proceeds from Thrift Shop sales, individual and corporate donations and fundraising to purchase food. Donations of shelf-stable foods and fresh produce from businesses, organizations, growers and individuals are essential to our operation.

Our partners include the Vermont Food Bank and the Healthy Harvest Network.
